After a few weeks of light training we are back into the usual training routine. It’s winter season here in the southern hemisphere. Kona it’s all about heat and humidity, so I will need to adapt the training environment to make it as warm and humid as possible. One of the ways to achieve this is by doing more indoor training and wearing extra clothes. A few weeks before the race, adding sessions of 20 minutes of Sauna can also do the trick. Finally, arriving to Kona early and training in the real environment is the most beneficial thing to do. Unfortunately, I do not have the luxury of arriving 3 weeks before the event to acclimatize properly. We’ll have to figure it out on the way.
